 I

You came with a revelation;

That which BPOC had known all along;

But, had swallowed, accepted, and well learned to live with;

When it got up to the brim,

And crying in silence,

Crying in the shower,

Was no longer an option;

The hullaballoo became the only way they could be heard!

II

You came at a time when our melanin made us guilty

Well, historically it always has, and it continues to do so;

But, after such a commotion, corporations knew they wouldn't be able to survive,

If they didn't acknowledge what was an age-old practice,

 A tradition, BPOC had learned to be okay with, to live with;

As if they ever had a choice;

As if they ever got a say in how they should be treated,

Be it in being forced into the reserves or being shipped off from India and/or Africa,

And many more of such episodic repetitions throughout history.

III

You stripped the truth naked;

Who stood for what;

You showed us how deep-rooted the hatred was,

Towards someone who looked different;

A majority amongst minority;

And, in an abundance of melanin

That decided ones' innocence or guilt;

And, whether one deserved to live or to die!
