I

You were that reality check,

I neither asked for nor wanted;

Guess, I needed it to hit home

To realize, how vulnerable we are,

How human,

And, how much in love I was.

II

You started off seemingly okay,

But, only it wasn't.

You came with that coldness,

Resembling death and the void it leaves behind.

III

As we watched you unravel,

It was like watching a chain reaction unfold,

right in front of your eyes;

Only this time the elements were people,

And the reaction, varying, on a scale of life and death.
