Your arrival showed us,

What a time we live in,

And the reality that maybe there is no afterlife,

Maybe both heaven and hell are on earth.

You showed us,

that the world is unjust;

And if justice is what we are after,

we need to speak up,

make our voices heard.

Be it to reclaim your authority over your body and choices-Poland,

To your home and family- Nagorno-Karabakh,

To your basic human rights-Thailand and the US.

You showed us that humanity is both fragile and vulnerable,

And, that is our very strength.

The fact that we still have the power to wear our vulnerabilities on our sleeves,

And, risk being shot at,

just so that there is a better future for women, children, and humans that follow,

speaks volumes as to how not everything is lost;

And that we still have hope for our species,

And our home.
