That Kid
He was just a kid,
Maybe around "eight" or "nine"
It was a pavement,
wide enough for two of us to pass,
Pass without making any physical contact,
I was in a rush,
Late for a scheduled meeting,
Mind ceaselessly processing,
Work, ideas, questions.
I took a side, gave him some space,
Just in case that little boy would need more of the pavement,
My careless yet calculated walk,
His hands,
Trying to grab a hold of my inner thighs,
And me,
Shocked, speechless, shuddering,
Under the broad daylight
Maybe around "eight" or "nine"
It was a pavement,
wide enough for two of us to pass,
Pass without making any physical contact,
I was in a rush,
Late for a scheduled meeting,
Mind ceaselessly processing,
Work, ideas, questions.
I took a side, gave him some space,
Just in case that little boy would need more of the pavement,
My careless yet calculated walk,
His hands,
Trying to grab a hold of my inner thighs,
And me,
Shocked, speechless, shuddering,
Under the broad daylight
